Positive first-year result
Ryan believes the tournament ended approximately $66,000 positive in year one — more than three times the original $20,000 net goal. That is Walk With Us’s result, not a promise EventEase can make for someone else’s event.
The story
Putting on a first charity golf tournament is difficult enough. For Ryan and his fellow Walk With Us board members, there was something more important at stake: they were organizing the event in memory of a departed friend.
The board was passionate about the mission — raising funds and giving hope — but like many volunteer organizations, the people doing most of the work were also busy working parents with careers and families.
Their biggest concern wasn’t any one part of the tournament. It was everything they didn’t know yet.

“We were most worried about the unknowns, so we talked to a lot of people who had experience. They all said that the registration, collection, and tracking administration was half the work, and anything that could make that easier was recommended.”
“Since the people doing primarily the lift were all busy working parents, we worried we might not have the capacity to pull off the type of event worthy of our departed friend's name.”

140
People in the field
The team needed to manage approximately 140 people and all the details that came with them — registrations, foursomes, shirt sizes, payments, and the inevitable changes and follow-up involved in putting together a golf tournament.

Where EventEase came in
Instead of spending their limited time tracking down information and piecing together tournament administration, the board could keep its attention where Ryan felt it belonged: on the people attending the event.
Behind the scenes, EventEase helped organize the core administration for the tournament, including participant information, foursomes, shirt sizes, registrations, and payments. That gave the organizers more time to focus on creating the kind of day they wanted their guests to experience. Jamie, founder of Walk With Us, said the board was looking for tech support, guidance managing more money, and expertise with registration, data collection, and payments.
“EventEase helped us to keep our focus on the connection to guests, all of whom were important friends, family, and supporters.”
“We could make sure we were executing a great day for all involved because EventEase was managing so much of the core administration for 140 people we'd otherwise have to track down for registration, foursomes, shirt sizes, payments, etc.”
“Last year we were looking for an affordable, dependable, and simple way to manage our 1st Annual WALK WITH US Golf Tournament because we needed (1) tech support (2) guidance managing an increased amount of money and (3) expertise with the registration, data collection, and payment processes that go into running a larger-scale non-profit event.”
The result
The first-year tournament didn’t simply reach its goal. It finished approximately $66,000 positive — more than three times Walk With Us’s original $20,000 goal. Ryan credits EventEase’s efficiency as one of the reasons the volunteer board was able to accomplish so much.
“The efficiency the platform provided saved us. It was a big reason we were able to raise 3x our goal for our first tournament.”

More than software
Ryan’s professional background made his reaction to EventEase particularly meaningful. His day job involves evaluating technology and service providers, and he describes himself as a tough critic. Initially, he wondered whether EventEase’s value proposition sounded too good to be true. His assessment after the tournament was very different.
Jamie, founder of Walk With Us, wrote about the same partnership from the board’s side: they needed support, a way to handle more money, and help with registration and payments. What they got, she said, was a partner.

“I don't know what our non-profit would have done without EventEase and the support that stands behind it.”
“Not only are the online platforms Doug creates easy to use & manage, but he also offers his personal support & expertise at every phase.”
“Doug from EventEase put his own time and energy into our success. I can honestly say I've never felt better about the combination of the solution to the need and the people who stand behind it in any of the dozens of technology relationships I've been a part of personally and professionally.”
“This is more than just a business venture for Doug, which became more than obvious to me and everyone on our WWU Board, based on his incredibly reasonable pricing and level of involvement. Doug becomes a partner and champion for every single event EventEase takes on.”
“This is a no brainer for any golf tournament organizer!”

The EventEase difference
For Walk With Us, EventEase wasn’t about adding more technology to the tournament. It was about taking technology and administrative work off the board’s plate.
Registrations, golfers, foursomes, payments, participant details, and other tournament information could stay organized while the board focused on its mission, its supporters, and honoring the friend who inspired the event in the first place.
That’s what EventEase is supposed to do.
